About the Lessons
1. | Demonstration | Here Butch plays the traditional fiddle tune, Spotted Pony, and converts it to a breakdown version with variations and backup. |
2. | Intro | One day, just for fun, Butch taped a backup guitar lick for Sweet Home Alabama, and then played a variation of Spotted Pony against the track. Amazingly it works, even though Sweet Home Alabama is in the key of G, and Spotted Pony is in the key of D. And so the name Sweet Spotted Pony emerged! |
3. | Break It Down | Now Butch breaks it down step by step. First he records the guitar lick, then the melody - 2 times for part A and 2 times for part B. Finally he plays variations over the top of it all. |
