Learning to Lean
Arranged for Hammered Dulcimer Players

VideoAbout the Lessons

Hammered Dulcimer: This tune is taught in the key of G.  Building on arpeggios in the I vi ii V pattern (“Heart and Soul”) played in waltz (3/4 time), the skill of playing both upward and downward arpeggios is honed in order to play this hymn.

The second line of Learning to Lean follows the I, VI, II, V, I chord progression, so this exercise practices that pattern using the G, Em, Am, D7, and G chords with "walking" between chord changes.
