VideoAbout the Lessons

1. Demonstration First Linda plays through her arrangement of this beautiful patriotic song.
2. Line 1 Linda explains that this arrangement is played using triplets - 3 notes per beat, counting 1-and-a, 2-and-a, 3-and-a.
3. Line 2 In this line, we play arpeggios across both sides of the treble bridge. Since line 3 is exactly the same as line 1, and line 4 is exactly the same as line 2 - we will move directly to line 5 next.
4. Line 5 In both phrases of this line, the left hand plays a drone note on A while the right hand plays the melody.
5. Line 6 Toward the end of this video, Linda demonstrates two ways to play the A arpeggio - either across the valley or down in the "box" below.
6. Line 7 Line 7 begins building toward the grand finale.
7. Line 8 And finally Linda takes us through the final arpeggios for this amazing hymn.
