VideoAbout the Lessons

1. Part A:
Warm Up with Tune You Know
Erin explains that when she was a music student, no one ever really told her HOW to practice, so in this series she gives us a few suggestions for a successful 30-minute practice session. First, she recommends that you begin by playing a tune with which you are comfortable.
2. Part B:
Warm Up with an Exercise
As the second part of warming up, play an exercise that will build proficiency in an area that may need extra work.
3. Part C:
Work on a Song
You might break the song down, learning measure by measure. You may want to memorize a song, so you have something to play when asked. You may want to focus on a certain technique.

Erin likes to end her practice sessions with an excercise followed by something really fun, ending on a high note with a satisfying experience.
