VideoVideo Lessons

1. Demo Here Steve plays through the entire tune in the D-A-d tuning, in the lower octave.
2. Chords Off She Goes is an Irish single jig. In this lesson we explore the quick chord changes. While they happen fast, there are only three chords! We'll also make use of both kind of Jig Strums (If you need review--try the Celtic Rhythm lessons)
3. Woodshedding Off She Goes is a single jig, in 6/8 time and as we begin to learn the melody for this one, Steve demonstrates the use of some or all fingers, and the process of "woodshedding" a portion of the tune, before putting it back into context (in the next lesson).
4 Melody, A Part Now we put our wood-shedding finish back into context and use the same process to get the A part into our fingers.
5. Melody, B Part In the B part of this song, we strategize about the smoothest fingerings to navigating the jumping part of this tune.
6. Jig Strums Now we look at two jig strums for the right hand, and bring it all up to tempo.
