VideoAbout the Lessons

1. Demo First Steve plays through the tune on hammered dulcimer
2. A Part This plagal Scottish tune is great for learning the quick-hammer technique needed to play the Scottish "snap".
3. B Part Now we look at the B Part of the tune, and can be delighted to learn that we know most of it already from the A Part! (Pay attention and this will help you in the future, too!)
4. Lower Octave Now let's get "down" with this tune and play it an octave lower!
5. Adding Harmony Now let's add some harmony notes.
6. Some Variations Here are some variations for playing this short tune and having some fun while making it interesting for both player and hearer.
7. More Variations Finally, we look at variations when we play in the lower octave (between the bridges) and use the same strategies to add harmony notes.
