Mountain Dulcimer Hammered Dulcimer Dulci-Bro Fiddle

NewReverse Tuning by Aubrey Atwater

In this series, Aubrey explains the purpose of reverse tuning, and then demonstrates a situation where you might need to change the tuning from the key of D to the key of G. To make this work on a mountain dulcimer, she had to use a "reverse tuning" technique.

To fit her own vocal range better, Aubrey further retuned her own dulcimer to the key of A, again using "reverse tuning." To demonstrate the tuning, in the first video for this series, Aubrey plays an old tune called "The Devil & the Farmer's Wife." Check out the lesson series here.
