VideoAbout This Lesson

1. A Part, Elemental The challenge for playing this tune on the mountain dulcimer is developing a dulcimer work-around for playing an E harmonic minor scale when the note isn’t present on the dulcimer.
2. A Part, Chorded Melody Here Steve shows how to play the chord with the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th fingers - while playing the melody with his thumb.
3. B Part, Elemental Watch out - because here is where we replace the D# melody note with an F#, to fit the notes available on a mountain dulcimer.
4. B Part, Chorded Melody In this part, Steve introduces pinching a string to create the chord sound, and some other unusual formations for chord progressions.
